Unsere Grosseltern, Wenger Charly & Hilda, haben den Grundstein gelegt und 1940 begonnen in Salgesch Rebberge zu erwerben und auch neu anzulegen. Die mit viel Sorgfalt produzierten Weine fanden regen Zuspruch in Ihrem Restaurant. Der Fendant galt als Alltagswein, der D\u00f4le wurde nur am Sonntag und bei speziellen Anl\u00e4ssen getrunken.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unsere Eltern, Wenger Martin und Irma, f\u00fchrten die Tradition fort und erbauten im Jahr 1966 eine kleine Weinkellerei. Aus Platzmangel erfolgte 1980 der Neubau des jetztigen Wohnhauses mit moderner Weinkellerei. Der Schwerpunkt der Produktion verlagerte sich zu den Rotweinen was zweifellos dem Potential unserer wunderbaren, kalkreichen B\u00f6den besser entspricht. So pflanzen wir nun die Weissweine, darunter rare Spezialit\u00e4ten, in der Gegend von Siders an.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anfang 2000 konnten wir in der dritten Generation die Leitung und den Betrieb des Cave Papillon \u00fcbernehmen. Unsere Familie pflegt und bearbeitet die Rebberge mit einer Gesamtfl\u00e4che von 4 Hektaren noch ausschliesslich selber. Die teils steilen, mit Trockensteinmauern terrassierten H\u00e4nge verlangen ein hohes Mass an Handarbeit, der Vorteil dabei ist, dass jeder Rebstock individuell bearbeitet wird. Tradition gepaart mit Innovation und stetiges Streben nach Qualit\u00e4t weisen uns den Weg in die Zukunft.
